Topic: SIDELIST - Calculate total time
I would love the list of songs in the sidelist to have a calculated total time at the top like it is in the automix list. That would really help me.

one thing u can do at the moment is to map a button as .. switch_sidelist_playlist , which swaps content of the 2 lists and u can quickly see the wanted time in the automix list with the Tracks u have in Sidelist , then click again to bring back the previous contents.

Create a custom button
switch_sidelist_playlist
and it will quickly swap them over so you can see the time in the automix window.

That's a great idea and it can definitely work for me! Thank you guys so much!!

However, that brings me to another one of my wishes. In VDJ, you only get 4 customizable buttons in the software and I've already used them up. I've always wished I had more buttons like at least 8 or 10.

I know I could customize an unused physical button on my controller, but many times when I am prepping sets, I am doing it on my laptop sitting on my bed with no controller hooked up.

Btw, the sidelist also shows the total time directly in the tooltip when hovering over 'SIDELIST', so no need to swap to see it.

You can have "unlimited" custom buttons. The "four" custom buttons is a limitation of the default skin, not the software itself.
Also custom buttons can be set and used via keyboard shortcuts as well.

Finally, perhaps as you progress in the software, you can take a look at a few alternative skins in case you find something that fits your needs better.
The default skin, as great as it is, it has to offer "anything" and therefore some limitations apply.
It needs to include every function, but still keep it "spacy" and "clean" That's a hard equation.
Typically this means that some aspects of the software don't get a "full" treatment on the default skin simply because there is not enough space.
That's where custom skins come to fill the void.

Check out PhantomDjs skins, He has a "Prep" mode and there's a ton of custom buttons!! Ive been using his skins for many years now and they are some of the best around.

This skin is the truth, once downloaded edit the setting and set it to horizontal mode and you should be golden 👍🏾

....or use a pad page to give you 8 custom buttons. You could call up the pad page using one of the default custom buttons (you can add more than one action to each button).

This is why I love coming here when I have a problem or have questions. I always get flooded with so many great ideas from you guys. Thank you!!!

ADION,
I had no idea lol. I always kept my ToolTips off. I just turned them on and you're right, it works. Thank you!!! No need for me to switch between automix and sidelist, even though that was a real good suggestion as well.

PHANTOMDEEJAY,
Thanks for the info on the custom buttons. I have experimented with other custom skins in the past, but I just really like the default pro VDJ skin the most. You all did such an amazing job with that skin, imo. Setting and using custom buttons via keyboard shortcuts is also a great idea that I may start using. I didn't realize I could do that.

THE SOUND INSURGENT,
Thanks for the tip on the PHANTOMDEEJAY SKIN. I did install it, but I'm gonna have to revisit it and mess around with it to see if I can get used to it. It seemed rather "busy" to me at first, but maybe I just need more time with it. Appreciate the tip!

GROOVINDJ,
Now that's an AMAZING suggestion! I am definitely gonna give this a try later on tonight. You even said I could also add more than one action to each button? That really has me curious! This right here would allow me to use the default skin and also have quick access to 8 custom buttons, which is all I wanted in the first place.

THANKS SO MUCH GUYS for all of your terrific responses to my dilemma!
