Topic: Shoutout and AI scripting
tried to use the new AI to make a script for a button to open the ShouOut editor since i couldn't find how to open it - it finally made a button that didn't work that just says browser_window but does nothing.
hard to take for a test drive like that.

the definition hasn't been updated so it won't autocomplete currently.
 
yeah still nothing.
would be nice to have some directions added in manual. couldn't find anything there that isn't in Options already..
 
FYI the default skin has a dedicated shoutout button just to the left of the master VU. Browse the XML, borrow the code, add to any skin. 👍
 
Are you well on build 9628?
 
yeah... that's a tiny button and the video clip doesn't point it out. but i see it now... and about to annoy a teenager while he gets ready for school.

used this and it launched the sampler lol!
 
the AI engine behind scripting is still learning, we expect it to improve quickly now that it's been released and will get high usage volume.
 
The shoutbox in the third version of Virtual DJ works great! I’ve already made a few samples and prepared for entertainment this weekend at the wedding. It’s nice that the shoutbox works in Slavic languages without any accent. Thank you, Stephane Clavel for constantly improving the program. This is no longer the same Virtual DJ I bought 12 years ago on a CD — it’s now the most powerful and best software in the world for mobile DJs.
 
Aloha, when will Shout out feature be available for all skins? Is there a way to add Shout Out to any skin? Thanks

The devs can only control the default skin and its variants. For any other skin you can talk to its author or make an edit yourself.

The way to do it was described 5 comments up.
Add it to a custom button, keyboard shortcut, controller custom button, or make a skin edit yourself to add a new element that calls the verb.
