After updating to the latest version I'm getting glitches and audio dropouts its virtually unusable at the moment, it gets significantly worse when Wi-Fi is enabled, this never used to be an issue vdj has been rock solid for me for years, I have disabled midi2 and all other non essential services adjusted power settings all of which I never had to do previously honestly at wits end with it now if anybody here can shed any light on this for me I would be forever grateful.

Same issue here but with Rane Performer, Win 10, and latest vdj build. I have to shut everything off several times before it starts working and even then there's an intermittent issue where the waveforms glitch out / lag while scratching. I'm gonna try an older version of vdj to see if that works.
 
I have an older sx3 and a backup laptop with vdj previous build on it, an acer icore5 nvidia geforce gtx and the issue is the same.
At a complete loss at the moment, not a good situation with a wedding to do in 3 hours time.

I would like to revert to the very last version of vdj2025 that was rock solid for me.
Any help here on how to do this without loosing everything?

I did check there it doesn't let you download any of the builds only the latest and one before that? Or am I doing something wrong?

So, I finally solved the issue...
After days of installing updates , uninstalling , re-installing GPU drivers, Wifi Drivers etc nothing worked.
My graphics card somehow in all this corrupted and windows displayed an error code 43 on it, I could not for the life of me get the driver to install after starting in safe boot etc using the Nvidia cleaner tool, nothing worked. I was now thinking my GPU had gone bad and was looking at a new laptop or expensive repair..
I didn't give up and hours of net searching and late nights I came across a possible solution to the error code 43 which was simply to reset the bios to default by pressing F9 then F10 in my laptops bios settings..
This has fixed the GPU error code issue and driver has been reactivated and lo and behold VDJ is now running smoothly again...
Why this happened... I have no idea no mods have or were made to my laptop only windows updates & VDJ updates..
I have been running VDJ2026 now for a while and there's absolutely no glitches the wave forms are perfectly smooth finally what a relief.
The only issue I have now is that in the controller options in VDJ I inadvertently removed my flex10 from the drop down menu on the bottom right corner , if anyone knows how I can re-add it to it I would appreciate it, VDJ see's my flex10 but I cannot select it as the controller to use.
This maybe of some help to others who are experiencing glitches and dropouts before you start removing things from you laptops its worth a try ( at your own risk of course).

Hi i´m flx 10 user too, really don´t understand well what yoou mean when says "controller options in VDJ I inadvertently removed my flex10 from the drop down menu on the bottom right corner"
i will give you few tips, if don´t fix the issue please give us a capture.
Check this : options--controllers--disblebuiltindefinitions NO/off
options--controllers--ShowControllersSubdevices NO/off
If problem is you lost the custom mapper check in recicle bin, if you delete one mapper inside controllers tab, it be send to recicle bin, other way is check VDJ backup files who stores mappers too.
last thing i think be usefull try to reinstall flx10 drivers, and check you are logged in VDJ.
If still don´t fix will be interesting know what happend in audio tab, it´s flx10 soundcard detected?

Thanks for your help, I have checked all these see attached screen grabs..
VDJ see's the Flex10 but I cannot select it as the FLex10 controller..
It will operate the FLex10 but without any of its features..

Hi,

Actually its working with all features now but with nothing in the display on the jog wheels.
It just shows the virtual dj logo and a message not loaded.

What I have done now is reverted VDJ back to a couple of weeks ago where I backed up VDJ to many issues to try and solve, easier to do this..

After reverting to my backup yes audio and controller connectivity was sorted however now most of the effects will not work either with the controller connected or not..
I'm out of ideas here now, I installed a fresh version of VDJ and this did not help, if there are any of the developers on here could they help out?

So folks, I'm on again to give an update on how things have gone with vdj2026.
It's been terrible, glitching wave forms , audio dropouts its been practicable un-useable.
none of the advice from tech support helped I even went as far as to download serato to see if it was a laptop issue, but serato worked flawlessly...
I spent days & weeks combing the internet for any help but everything I tried just didn't work..
That is until today , I was about to give up on VDJ after being a loyal user for over a decade or more..
I entered into what I thought was going to be another fruitless engagement with an AI search on google,
after going through several things which I had already tried which didn't work then came the suggestion to try something which I hadn't been offered before which was to go to the virtual dj folder, delete the settings.xml file, then go to the cache folder delete everything there except all the folders for beatport, soundcloud ,images etc(leave the folders alone). Then go to task manager and set VDJ prior to high and restart VDJ.
To my absolute amazement I got a solid waveform with no glitches or audio drop outs..
I will be testing it over the next few hours to make sure its finally stable but the early indications are that it is..
I hope this is helpful to someone out there I can't believe this issue only effected me, in fact I know it hasn't as a friend of mine has a brand new MacBook with a similar issue his drop outs are less frequent than mine were..
As with any advice folks, do any changes to your computer or software at your own risk I was at my wits end and was prepared to wipe my laptop clean and start again.
If anything changes I will be back to update.. fingers crossed..
 
You went to AI to get a response that should have been your first idea to try (reset to factory default state of VirtualDJ)?
 
No, I uninstalled vdj reinstalled vdj , I posted for help here, I emailed vdj tech support nothing helped.
I had to broaden my search for help, vdj hasn't worked properly for months for me since updating to 2026

So the fix was that simple even tech support didn't advise me of it, you kept it to yourself..., thanks
 
Testing with default settings is always a given, because it establishes a baseline - whether it is really a problem with VirtualDJ or if there is a settings change you introduced that caused the problem.

I have no idea how your conversation with Tech Support went or why they didn't advise trying that as part of the process, or if you missed that info, but now you have something I hope you've committed memory/common sense/things to try with future problems.
 
I posted earlier about trying an older build with my performer.... still had the glitching audio and drop outs. Tried the newest vdj build which seemed fruitful at first but is now back to the sound glitching out.

Super bummed we've been having issues well over a month now with no input from the devs (unless I missed it).
 
My friend has had issues for months now. I've tried diagnosing but no cigar. Mid range Intel PC with RTX. He's going to try Serato as VDJ is unusable.

Done literally everything.

Core Parking
Processsor power settings
Check RAM use
Check background processes
Check latency which appears within tolerance
Check controller drivers and various latencies
Reset settings.xml
Reset laptop back to factory settings

Even I'm beginning to thing VDJ is the issue as we've exhausted literally every other avenue.
 
So @kradcliffe it very well may be that there is an issue with VirtualDJ, but it may be different from OPs issue (OP said their issue was resolved with reset of settings, the Rane Performer issue may be related but not the same issue as OPs).

Maybe make a new thread for that issue?
 
I play with airplane mode on and in the Nvidia panel I must set performance setting to max. I hear crackling still sometimes. I think this is windows 11 being the worst OS ever. Save your money and buy a mac.
 
My mate has a brand new mac and he is having audio dropouts also, mines sorted now thankfully.
