There is of course no manual yet, so I'm just trying it out and reading the mapping scripts
I have a few questions
Why adding fake master volume to ONINIT? It means that when I use it with another soundcard the master volume doesn't work, and it doesn't seem to make a difference if I remove it
What are the added padfx scripts on the acapella and instru buttons meant to do? I can't really hear any FXs when using the buttons - just the switch to acapella and instrumental as expected

Probably because the controller has a non-bypassable hardware functionality control for the volume knob (maybe it is an internal mixer controller with its own soundcard?)
Using a soundcard that isn't onboard is probably an advanced (not the normal) use case (that's my guess) - so you can remove the fake stuff if you know how your audio setup works and the knob does send MIDI. If removing it doesn't make a difference, then maybe it doesn't send MIDI currently? Any activity for it in the Activity Monitor?

pads look a little unusual they read like they're a hold to cut the opposite of the label as to solo the label, but it has to make sure external influences hasn't already muted the labelled stem.

fake_master is a "tricky" setting.
If you remove it, "nothing changes" except that the volume curve becomes quadratic instead of linear.
That's because both VirtualDJ and the controller apply master volume control at the same time.
So, in order to test it properly you need to play something simple as a pure sine waveform and measure the master volume output at different locations of the master volume knob.
Only then you can notice the difference by yourself.
PS: I'm not talking necessarily about Numark Mixtrack GO.
I'm talking about ANY controller that has fake_master on it's init.
You "can" remove it from all of them and "nothing will change"
Except that now the master output levels are all over the place.
PS2: SOME controllers (like most Pioneers) will also use the master audio (as sent by the software) for the headphones mix between PFL and MASTER. On those controllers, the "master" audio as sent by VirtualDJ should be already at max volume. Otherwise (if you remove fake_master) when you put headphone_mix knob at 50% you won't hear the master audio properly. It will be burried under the PFL and it will have a low volume.
So that's another thing that you should pay attention.
