Topic: Mapping Video Effects
Hey people... I can't find exactly what I am looking for in old posts so thought I would just ask it here and hopefully convey proper desires in what I am looking to do. That said, I'd like to apologize for my ignorance if I missed the answer already.

I have a DDJ-XP1 I would like to trigger the different video effects and transitions with. If I still had hair it would surely be almost gone trying to figure it out without bothering you guys.

Thanks for any help with it.

instead of direct mapping the hardware to video fx which would limit the scope of the HW, I'd make a pad page,
video fx are not really any different when called by name so most of it is covered in early lessons of script school

Transitions aren't much different than calling fx.
If you'd like a custom padpage making send me a pm.

Big Eyes.... Um, Yeah! That! All this new age cool stuff.... lol

I will dig in but any help with it will be greatly appreciated...

If you read it and start making a, even basic, padpage any questions you'll have will be easy to answer. Generally users are easier to help after a bit of initial reading.

Definitely a lot of information there. I guess the most basic start would be, start a pad page where? How? I am not certain what you mean on starting a pad page.

I just want to map some pad buttons on the DDJ-XP1 to toggle the different video FX like overlays, transforms, and maybe video sources to toggle camera and visuals on and off.

You young Thundercats know more than us old folks...

I'm tracking... and couldn't appreciate the help more. That is why I posted the original question here. For people like you that have the in depth knowledge of those workings. It is much like law. We can agree there are tons of information on every aspect of law, right? But many of us do not have the time to find a specific portion we may need. So we turn to the professionals that A. either have the time to find the answers, or B. already know the information because they deal with it much more often that most.

Thank you so much for your support in this matter.

Not wanting to be mean but you can ask for a padpage to be made and that's a time cost to that [there's some hours in the task; scheme questions, actually writing, refining & testing]
or you can read the material and ask for help after you've read it and got stuck [many hours on your part]
You can't ask for the material to be read to you, well you can but that's tuition.
It's not that difficult [button calls one fx] but explaining everything to somebody who hasn't done the reading is a longer job than writing the whole thing, and I already wrote most of the stuff you'll need.

You speak facts, no harm done. Don't get me wrong, I get the concept, and have the ability to learn coding. There are just a few things missing I can't find the answer to. I can trigger video fx turning them on and off. What I am stuck on or trying to figure out is how have the pads trigger each of the effects in the drop down menu. That seems to be where I am with it. I was able to put in a whole hour and twenty minutes since Thursday trying to figure it out. I just didn't know if there was something I was missing in where I was working with it.

Again, you have done a LOT here. You have a ton of information floating around in your brain and I couldn't be more proud of you and also grateful for your time.

Is there a list I am missing? "Lyrics", "Camera", "Cube" and so on?
