I want to take the latest version of VirtualDJ for a test drive to see if I want to purchase it, but it looks like my controller is locked behind pro. Do I need to subscribe to test this before buying, or is there something I am missing?

There's no native mapping for the S4 MK3 as it's not fully supported, and the downloadable mapper is for Pro users only - so yes you need to be a Pro user (even if just briefly).

You need to be pro in any case, since the free version doesn't support controller use

Is there no more 30 day trial?
For natively supported controllers presumably it's still possible to test for 10 mins, but in this case the controller needs the "Pro only" mapper.

It's worth it. I own the S4 MK3 and the mapper works flawlessly with VDJ.
