I tried this new feature but its not encouraging. The recording paused but still have empty gaps or space which is absolutely wrong.

So I tried it out myself. It appears to stop recording if there is around 3 seconds of silence, just before which it still is recording. I assume my experience is the intended function. Is this what is happening to you as well? Were you hoping for a different behavior?
