Topic: DMX Control without using third party software
Dmx control without using third party software would be a killer!

It's not going to happen.

DMX software is a complicated matter on it's own. I mean just take a look at how many dedicated DMX software titles exist, and what's the price and development cycle of all the popular ones.
Not only that, but generally speaking, controlling light fixtures can get very complicated, very quickly.

DMX as part of a DJ software is one of those ideas that's good on paper but don't really hold any water on their own.

One can only dream.....and you know who always makes dreams a reality?...VDJ. I currently use MyDMX Go, which works just fine, but would be awesome eliminating the third party lighting control.

Don't get me wrong.
As soon as you are a mobile Dj and you only care about 3/4 fixtures, then it can be done. But when you start talking about real clubs, with decades or even hundreds of fixtures, things get real ugly.
I'm talking from experience here, as DMX was always a sideshow of mine.
I have used all "top level professional" software, such as GrandMA2 and GrandMA3, Avolites Titan, Chamsys MagicQ and others.
They are all complicated pieces of software, and they NEED to be in order to be able to run big shows.
Even if you would go for "half" of their functionality, things would be more complicated than the all the four popular DJ applications combined!

Yeah, I wouldnt expect that level of functionality, but like you mentioned maybe like a simple 4 fixture show for mobile DJs would be fantastic.

If you go back far enough in time VDJ did once have built in DMX functions...

VDJ 5 and VDJ 6 had it, but basically they took it out because hardly anyone used it.

Wow I never knew, and I had VDJ 6 as a bedroom DJ!
