I have been using it fine for a while with paypal and now when anyone tries to use paypal it gets this error "paypal error: You do not have permissions to make this API call"
I noticed there are more options now including venmo, so I added venmo, but when you do venmo it just acts as if no tip was selected and sends the request without bringing up venmo to send a tip

Addition to above. Trying again now with Venmo it does appear to redirect to Venmo but Venmo gives this error “Max challenge attempts exceeded. Please refresh the page to try again!”

Paypal suddenly closed our askthedj account, without any warning.
And since it was using a deprecated API that we cannot issue credential for anymore, we had to quickly create a new business account, and implement a new engine using paypal's new API.
And of course on a Sunday...
But it's done, and all should be working again now.

Thanks for the update, just checked and it goes to paypal again as you mentioned
