I was so scared to update to 2025, and my fears have come true. I have new gamers laptop that is upgraded beyond what a normal human needs. If the specs are need Ill provide, but trust me, it is heavily upgraded and can handle anything. Before updating to 2025, VDJ 2024 was working with zero/not any problems at all. I don't do a lot of gigs so after updating several weeks back, I have been practicing a little here and there and started noticing freeze ups, seems mainly during videos. Tonight was my big practice night, and I wanted to make sure I usen nothing but videos to test this. Things were going very well for about an hour or so and then it froze upon a video load on deck one. it still allowed me to play and add music or music videos, but all video functions were frozen. eventually windows gave me a VDJ is not responding, and I click on end program, which took forever to stop/shut off. I was online and I hope you were able to capture this event. I got major events coming up soon, Thank you.

You may want to do a quick search on the forums, as one of the latest nVidia driver updates caused many issues to many users (not just VirtualDJ users BTW)
Perhaps you need to update your drivers again or roll back to a previous version if you're using a nVidia GPU ?

So, I will start by saying that I am nowhere near as good with all the "technical computer/VDJ stuff" as you guys are. I am not totally technology stupid, just not as good and smart as you all. I don't keep up with all the VDJ news and everything the program does, I am a basic user but have run a successful DJ business for many years now
That being said, don't make too much fun of me with my crazy ways of doing business and my crazy question. So, on this problem I posted, I finally found out what was causing my music video crashes. Any music video not in MP4 format is causing the freeze ups and crashes. (VDJ never did this before 2025 update, I think) When I load a WMV video it freezes. After the freeze when I try to click, click reload click reload click.click click , I'll get the windows warning that VDJ is not responding. and to end the program. after many experiments over the last few days, I am very confident in saying this.
If this is old news, I apologize, refer back to the beginning of this new post. I guess my question now is, to confirm my theory, does the VDJ program not allow other formats anymore, or is there a setting that I need to change to allow it to accept my very old videos that are in other formats.

So everything I just posted is trash. I just went to my studio to practice/test and had an immediate freeze up and crash. I give up.
