I would like to know if someone has used a generic camera to be able to connect it to VitualDj. If there are possibilities, how good is it. I would like opinions on this matter. Thanks

Yes, many of us have connected webcams to VDJ. The quality will be whatever the camera provides - so better to get a high resolution branded one, rather than something cheap from an unknown manufacturer.
If you want to show the image on a giant screen (how big is "giant"?) then I'd suggest going for a DSLR instead.
