Hi everyone. I've unfortunately lost my HDD on my mac. I use an external drive to hold my music though. I'm just wondering if there is anywhere I can get my history from? Thanks in advance. Jamie

Hardware wise, if the drive is not making any unusual noises (eg, tick of death etc) then pull it and stick it in a case. You might be able to save some of the data off it. Linux would be your best bet in that case to try and get data, as it supports all filesystems.
I own multiple failing HDD's and I have been able to get the data off them before they just don't work anymore.

I've read over and over how they put HDD in the freezer and they have worked afterwards just to get data from it.
Well, one day I said what the heck and tried it and low n behold, it worked (got the data I want from it).
