Just want to make sure all 8.x skins will work on 8.2? I am using the PIONEER PADS 4 deck version as it matched my DDJSX2.

Yes, they do work.
However the way 8.2 is designed and works there's no need for "special versions" of skins anymore.
The pads of your controller (as soon as you use factory default mapper) will match with the default skin and vice versa.
In other words the default 8.2 skin now shows the pads state for all controllers with 8 pads per side layout.

i've tried to open a skin from 8.1 and it said it is impossibile to open the file, also the ticks in scratchwave mode made optional would be great

try reinstalling the skin
