This tool is converting your v8 databases back into v7 databases.
All db informations, like BPM, playcount, tags, CUE points... are coverd.

Additionally your virtual folders will be converted too.

Currently, the tool has one "bug".
If it finds an illegal character in one of your databases, this database is skiped and not converted.
Illegal characters should not be in an XML file, so I fill not fix that for the moment.
The programm gives you the line number and position of the character, so you might open the db with an editor and delete that character.
Then try again.

The new databases are saved to their appropriate v7 locations and are named "VirtualDJ (local) Database v6_DBKonverter_<Date>.xml".
Where <Date> is in the format YYYYMMDD.

So in order to use these generated databases you have to rename them, and delete the part "_DBKonverter_YYYYMMMDD".

I've been trying to use this on my back up music HDD (external) on my pc and always get that illegal character error, even though it says where it is and I delete it (to the point I even delete the whole line) it still won't convert it to VDJ7. I wonder though if I'm trying it on the wrong database?, there are two, one on the external music HDD itself and the other in the My Documents/VirtualDJ folder.
I think I need a complete walk through on this, it doesn't help that I'm a little dyslexic so after a while the all the letters, numbers, and characters start to look like digital spaghetti and gives me a right proper headache. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you upload your datadases and give me a dowload link? Or send them by email?

If you want to, just send it to niko.pahtsinis@Googlemail.com

Just sent you via dropbox

It works beautifully - thank you for your good work and extra help - you are a star

Hi Again, I was just looking at the file info after using your Database Konverter on VDJ7 and compared it with VDJ8 file info and found a date error in the firstplay of the VDJ7 which says 2014/21/52 instead of 2015/01/17 on VDJ8. It's not a problem right now but thought you may need to know.

I'll have a look, thanks.

Excellent, I'm glad you're still working on this.

Hey can i have the link for the dropbox file or the mediafile for where i can download it at?

Sorry, you need a LE, Plus or Pro licence for this tool.

Does not work... Reads drives, collects databases an then gives: "Oooooooops an error occured". No VDJ 7 databases are created. I'm using german Windows 10, VDJ 8 Pro, VDJ 7 Full Pro. Any ideas?

Me podrias pasar el dropbox o mediafire del archivo muchas gracias
