I believe that most (if not all) Pioneer/AT screens have the majority of their graphics stored in the firmware, which is why there are no VDJ skins shown on Pio/AT screens. They "force" their own interface.

No, it's because the device was not designed with such functionality in mind.
The screen of CDJ devices is not a display for the computer software to draw whatever it wants.
Instead it's compartmented to several parts that show "things" depending on the data the device receives.
For instance you send the song's elapsed time in msec and the device automatically turns it to Minutes/Seconds/Milliseconds to show on the display, and also rotates the white ring on the jog, and moves the large scratch waveform on the correct "place" on the screen.

So, the device does not have a "compartment" written in it's firmware where you can send text and then have that text shown on top of the scratch waveforms.
 
Indeed, you'll have to ask Alphatheta, but I don't think it has been common in the past that big changes are added with firmware updates to existing devices

Arabic lyrics right to left should be left to wright no setting ?
 
Latest beta with censor is not loading lyrics at all, just a spinning load wheel. I'll assume things are slammed at the moment or some technical difficulties?

Is there some option to search for all lyrics within playlist or database? Analyze for stems etc. doesn't do this. I can see tag HasLyrics to yes just after loading song in a deck. Another great thing for karaoke would be option to show lyrics in advance, etc. 1-2 seconds.
And will AI lyrics work in other languages as well? None of my Czech songs can find lyrics.

Edit: Now I can see I wasn't logged in, I will wait if that changes anything. But that iinformation should be somewhere else.

And it is not very succesful in correctly spell a lot of czech words. So my next question is...
I use .lrc files, will there be some updates on their functionality? Just option to place them in front of video or slideshow would be great!
 
It should work with other languages yes. I mean it works for Greek :P (and Arabic e.t.c.)
So it should work for Czech too.
As explained before, there's no option to batch extract lyrics for songs. At least for the moment.
Because it would overflow the AI server, especially these first days that everyone will try to use lyrics and batch analyze at the same time.

Yeah that seems as a logic step for first days.
So please try to update the .lrc functions. I want just two things. Ability to turn them off, because when I try to run slideshow with wedding photos and automix or I load a song with .lrc file into deck, it shows theme everytime under the slideshow and it looks weird. And the second thing, put them in video effects area to be able to show them over the video files! Please. :)

It would be nice to know where that database is stored if we would like to backup and move to another computer.
And I would like to know if I edit a song that was wrong from begining, is there any comunication on servers that will take my edited one to another user with same song?

In a file called extra.db in VirtualDJ's home folder.

No, edits are not reuploaded to other users..
 
Seeing some real flaky and inconsistent behaviour. I can load a track onto a deck and get the error message:

Lyrics extraction requires stems2.0.
Your computer is set to use only 'prepared stems' and there are no prepared stems for this song.

What's weird is that the song I loaded on the deck was from my pre-prepared Stems folder - it was the pre-prepared stems2.0 saved version of the song! Same thing appears when I try the non-stem version too.

That's weird to start... it gets weirder. Other songs that I don't have prepared stems for can be loaded onto a deck and the lyrics work - no prepared stems required. No error messages, just load them on and lyrics just work.

I also can't appear to change the stemsRealtimeSeparaton setting - although it will display any of the options, "Prepared" always appears to be in BOLD text. What does this mean?

I've had a couple of of songs load with a different character set (chinese or similar), both times they were remixes, clicking re-analyze on the first one worked, but the 2nd track constantly showed the stange characters randomly in the song.
Obviously some remixes are going to be harder but maybe a language setting for lyrics to force them into a specific language may help.

PS I do think the facility is amazing, just a bit glitchy still.
 
That's the problem with AI, it cannot be 100% accurate.
But usually, right-click -> Lyrics Editor -> Re-Analyze, will solve the problem.
 
I really like the AI Lyrics in 2026.

I just want to verify that this is proper behavior. I have had some songs that load with the lyrics and others where they don't load. To force the loading, I right-click and choose the lyrics editor that invokes the lyric extraction and this works. Is this the way we should be using it? Or is there another way to force the lyric extractions without going into the editor?

This is the way it should be, if you have stemsRealTime set to "on demand". If the song was already transcribed by another virtualdj user, we don't need the stems2, so you will get the lyrics instantly. But if nobody transcribed it before, we need the stems2, so if you are set to on-demand, it will not transcribed automatically unless you demand it by opening the lyrics editor (or the lyrics or karaoke video plugins)
