Forum: Wishes and new features

Topic: Dreaming of Fluid Beatgrid - Page: 4
Went to look in to the Algoriddim fluid beatgrid to find out more about it and the Google automatic search population speaks for itself :)

I just updated my video for Billie Jean and re-analyzed in VDJ. As you can see the CBG is way off at the start of the song (where I'd normally loop the intro for a mix) but in the middle the CBG is better.

We really need this feature please!

Billie Jean first two bars are off. That's no secret to anyone.
However if you try to reanalyze_multi I believe it detects and fixes this.
At least I know that on my "version" of Billie Jean it's fixed..

PS: If you loop and sync on the first 2 bars, you better finish your mix before releasing the loop. Because otherwise the track will come out of sync right after those bars.
The only "viable" solution would be to re-grid / re-drum the track..

PS: 12 inch version does not have this issue :P

Just wanted to say thank you to the VDJ team for implementing Fluid Beatgrid!

I was one of the people hoping for this for a long time, even if I mostly stayed out of the back-and-forth when the idea got dismissed or argued down. For mixed-format venue work or strict "originals only" brief, it genuinely felt like one of those basic expectations that was holding the product back. Since using it, it has already made a massive difference across a good proportion of my gigs, especially with older disco, funk, pop and live-drummer tracks where the old multi grid was always a compromise.

It was never about replacing DJing or blindly relying on sync. It is been about loops, effects, beat jumps, live mashups on strict "originals only" briefs, smoother transitions, and less manual correction on music that was never recorded to a perfect grid.

Credit where it is due: this is a really useful addition, and I’m glad it made it into VirtualDJ.

This has really changed things in my job. Thank you so, so much @Adion and team.
