I have checked the forum for issues about https://virtualdj.com/wiki/Win11-KB5074105.html but couldn't find a thread. Please close and link if there is any.
This VDJPedia article is very well written and for sure helpfull for many, but i have still a problem:
In my update history i have found KB5077181 & KB5077241. But my list for uninstalling updates doesn't contain these two KBs. I uninstalled all the offered updates, but it still don't work.
Any ideas what to do?
This was the first time since 15 years using virtual dj that i couldn't make it run for my gig. Now i know that god is a dj, because i had luck that my safety notebook wasn't updated at the time of this gig.

Sometimes they don't show in the uninstall list. Run this tool from Microsoft first before you uninstall anything: https://github.com/microsoft/MIDI/releases/download/enablement-checker/midicheckservice_x64.zip
This will tell you if MIDI 2.0 is the problem from the updates. If they are present, then do the uninstall
Also, check to see if you have the latest update to VDJ... I believe they addressed some of these issues in updates.
This will uninstall them from the system. Open a command prompt (CMD) in admin mode.
Type the command:
then
finally
then restart your computer.

@DJJamieFox Thank you very much for your quick response and help.
I started the tool. It says:
Looking for wdmaud2.drv in registry
- Successfully verified wdmaud2.drv is present in registry, as required by the new MIDI stack.
Testing MIDI Service Activation
- Successfully tested connectivity to service: MIDI Service is available and running from System32.
I understand this in that way, that there is no problem?
I checked my VDJ Version. I have the latest v2026 b9005.
I also tried to uninstall the KBs via the cmd lines you provided, but my windows says for the preview update 5077241 that it is not installed, but i can still can see it in the history. And for kb 5077181 i got the message, that this updated is needed and can't be uninstalled.
So unfortunately it doesn't work. But thank you very much for your help anyway!

No, it's the oposite.
These messages mean that your computer has the new MIDI service that's known to have some bugs

So the problem is that I installed a preview update, and now I have to hope that Microsoft releases a proper update soon, and until then I can't use Virtual DJ with the console?

Any news about this problem?
I've the faulty KB installed but it's impossible to remove them.... Perhaps it's too late because some updates got installed later...
Right now VirtualDJ just hangs when i start it....
(Using Denon Prime Go)

To be fair, the KB is not faulty, the driver is. The new Windows MIDI Services has a service now that connects to MIDI rather than individual apps directly connecting to the devices. As a result, a driver bug that went unnoticed for decades is suddenly very noticeable. In the past, it would only hang single apps, and would only be noticed by users of apps where they would close a MIDI connection and then try to reopen it in the same app (there were reports of this in REAPER). Most DJ apps don't work that way.
The workaround for the inMusic driver bug has been available on our Discord server since March. https://aka.ms/mididiscord
However, it just finished rolling out and enabling in Windows 11 today, for customers who have not uninstalled updates and who are current on updates and who haven't disabled MIDI 2 in VDJ (or the vive tool change it's based on). If you've done any of those things, I recommend going into Windows Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems using Windows Update. It's pretty painless to do and it will retain your apps/settings/files etc.
If you haven't manually checked for updates, the workaround will be forced in the B-week release: second week of June.
Please note, as covered on the Discord server, we could only work around the buggy close behavior of the drivers. If you power down or disconnect the inMusic devices while the app has them open, they will still cause MIDI to lock up on Windows, requiring a reboot.
Finally, please note that the MIDI 2 switch introduced in VDJ stopped working last month when the January release came out of the Controlled Feature Rollout period.
