    Great box pulling triple Duty!!!!

    Great box pulling triple Duty!!!!
This is a great little box, plug and play with Serato, as good as the Rane boxes. This box doesn't do pass thru like the SL boxes, so if you need that feature you will be stuck with Rane. Also this box works with Virtual DJ no problems, and also I use this box with Rekordbox DJ. If you do plan to use it with Rekordbox you will have to make use of the Asio4All driver since Rekordbox has an issue handling the 64bit Denon driver. With this I finally said goodbye to Traktor, since their software seems to be going the opposite direction from my genre. All in all I feel this is a great product priced very competitive, well made (metal case), and I had 0 performance issues.

I've fooled around with turntable DJing in the past, but never graduated the school of beatmatching—once I hooked the Denon DS1 to my 1210s and got Serato DJ Pro up and running, though, things suddenly became much easier.

It's only been a day since the USB interface, software and control records arrived, but right out of the box, the system's learning curve was far from steep...almost—the initial setup itself involved a brief spat of my records not receiving a signal from the software and/or the software not recognizing the interface. BUT, the operative word is brief. After installing Serato, ensuring the Denon firmware is updated on my Macbook and restarting my computer, everything suddenly clicked and I began mixing.

One note: if you're using a standard analog turntable mixer rather than one that interfaces directly with Serato/your computer, route the outputs from the DS1 into the *auxiliary* inputs on said mixer, rather than the phono inputs you'd otherwise use. Otherwise, you'll get insane distortion in your audio. This is an issue I ran into, but easily resolved.

In sum, totally worth the money. I haven't even uncovered all the bells and whistles of the software itself, but as far as dragging tracks onto your decks and playing them back with your control records, it's almost as intuitive as playing actual records. Highly recommended.

I had researched this product before purchasing. There were not very many reviews short of the ones on Serato's forums. Of course, there were MANY complaints, that this product, does not work with Scratch Live (big deal, it's outdated, and no longer even supported). If you are looking for an interface, with external power capabilities, this is NOT, the interface for you. You can not switch out Dj's while using it, you can play in through mode, to use actual vinyl, but, it has to run through the computer. Now. If you are looking for a VERY functional interface, that is 200.00 cheaper than the Rane Sl2, with BETTER sound quality, then this is the box for you. Hook up was a snap, I was up and spinning in less than 5 minutes. The build id solid, the size is compact, and it has functioned flawlessly. The only remaining test is longevity . The Rane boxes, do last for ever. I am sure this interface will prove to be just as reliable. Hope this helps in your decision making ! Great Product !!!! Way to go Denon !!!!!

Been touring and gigging on this strong since I purchased about a month and a half with no issues. Had been rocking an SL1 since 2005 and decided I was way over due for an upgrade. Was a little concerned because I was so used to Serato Scratch and wasn't sure if DJ would be as stable. Have been using this strong at festivals & gigs without issue and love how small it is. If you need aux input or the power cable to be able to play actual vinyl records without unplugging is only issue's I could see, but I never really have to do that or if a vinyl DJ playing after me, I'm usually unplugging my stuff so I can leave when I want to anyway... Five star performance especially for the price so far. Hopefully this thing lasts 10 years like my SL1, but the build quality seems good.

I wrote to Denon support, they tell me - send item back to amazon, it’s need a warranty repair.
I bought new DS1 and after received, I sent a broken to amazon, they bring back my money.

With new DS - happens the same problem!!!!

I do Not Recommended!! Better buy SL3 or SL4 - it worth it!

This really does work! The video about transforming existing gear to a digital vinyl system, is exactly something you should invest in, if you don’t want to get rid of your existing equipment! Best thing I did for myself!!

Does what I expected it to do. Vinyl isn't warped, interface is easy to use, and doesn't skip or have any bad audio quality output. Got some new vinyl just because, but the ones that came with are perfectly fine. Would recommend for those who are wanting to do vinyl or CDs with a low price.
