Great product and quality. Easy setup to DVS software which I currently use. Highly recommend this product. Software that I use with this mixer is Virtual DJ, Serato DJ Pro and Rekordbox. Just don't forget to but your Control Vinyl.

Thanks to the built-in soundcard, this 2-channel mixer is Serato DJ Pro enabled as soon as you unpack it. Featuring a highly durable Magvel crossfader, inherited from the DJM-900NXS2, the DJM-S3 delivers a smooth and accurate response.
The scratch-friendly layout creates more room for you to be creative in the booth. No need to go easy, the DJM-S3 is built to withstand intense performances. And to bring even more creativity to your performances, you can connect the DDJ-SP1 controller and use its large Performance Pads for tactile control of many Serato DJ Pro features, including its FX.

Love this mixer (and its MIDI capabilities)
I’ve been a DJ for about 20 years and i was always too cheap to buy a high quality mixer for my 1200s. Additionally, the only DVS solution I personally owned was Final Scratch waaay back when, and I didn’t really want to buy a Serato standalone interface. I’d spun on Serato and Traktor many times with friends, but last year I decided it was past time to upgrade. I moved my old Numark analog mixer aside and started shopping. I was comparing this to the Numark Scratch and a couple other models, and while this wasn’t my first choice, I found a killer deal on this model and snagged it for only $250. Couldn’t pass it up. About a year later, im still extremely happy with my purchase. The Magvel crossfader is buttery smooth and is wonderful for scratching, the built-in filter effect has a ton of depth to it (and works on any sound source, not just the tracks in Serato), it has a built in Serato interface, and everything about this unit screams “high build quality”. While it doesn’t have ALL the features I’d like, it certainly does everything I need in a DVS solution. One thing that is super easy to overlook though: I’ve seen some people mentioning that this mixer doesn’t have a track seek knob. While this is true, ALL of the faders, knobs, and buttons are MIDI-assignable. Check out my video in this review to see for yourself! It would be handy to have sample/hot cue buttons, but honestly, I don’t care. I have Novation Dicers and use those for my loops, hot cues, samples, and a couple other dedicated features. After setting up my MIDI mappings, I’m 100% mouse/keyboard-less when I’m in Serato. Again, this mixer is fantastic, and being a Pipneer DJ mixer, it is built like a tank and I expect will serve me for years to come. At least until I have the cash for a DJM-S7 or Reloop Elite. I hope this review is helpful for any DJs in the market for a basic, super-functional DVS-ready mixer. I couldn’t be happier with mine.

This is a very high-quality mixer by Pioneer that will last for years. Great sound coming out of this mixer, all the knobs and components are very sturdy, and the cross fader is smooth and free moving. But I still had to return it because, for me it’s missing a few features. Such as library scroll and beat pads. Overall I enjoyed using the DJM-S3 while I had it.
